Professor – Actuarial Science/Statistics – Zvishavane

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Professor to join our academic team in Zvishavane, Zimbabwe. The role involves conducting research, supervising student work‑related learning, and delivering lectures in advanced quantitative subjects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead research projects in actuarial science, finance, statistics or related fields.
• Assess and mentor students on work‑related learning activities.
• Teach at least three of the following modules: Mathematical Finance, Survival Models, Machine Learning, Stochastic Processes, Spatial Statistics, Bayesian Statistics.

Required profile

• Honours degree (minimum 2:1) in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree in Statistics or a related field.
• PhD or active pursuit of a PhD in a relevant area is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with at least two statistical or mathematical software packages such as R, Python, Mathematica/Maple, or Stata.
