Procurement Assistant

About the role

The Procurement Assistant will support end‑to‑end procurement activities for Africa Clinical Research Network, ensuring timely, compliant and cost‑effective sourcing of goods and services required for clinical studies and operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pre‑qualify suitable suppliers and service providers across categories such as clinical supplies, laboratory consumables, courier services, printing, IT and facilities.
• Conduct basic market research to benchmark pricing, gather product/service information and monitor market trends.
• Maintain and regularly update supplier and vendor databases, including contact details, capabilities, certifications and performance notes.
• Assist in obtaining and comparing quotations, proposals and bids in line with company procurement policies and budget requirements.
• Support the preparation, review and processing of purchase requisitions, purchase orders and related documentation in coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Legal & Contracts department to ensure procurement activities and supplier agreements comply with legal, regulatory and contractual standards.
• Help coordinate vendor onboarding, contract documentation and record‑keeping.

• Full‑time, fixed‑term salaried position.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with internal teams to meet study and operational needs.
• Good organizational skills for maintaining accurate procurement records and vendor information.
