Partnerships Specialist – Harare

About the role

The Partnerships Specialist will design and implement a comprehensive partnership development plan aligned with UNOPS strategic objectives, supporting humanitarian and development initiatives across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a partnership development plan reflecting UNOPS strategic plan, regional and national contexts, and growth pipeline opportunities.
• Analyze risks and opportunities of the office’s strategic positioning and propose sustainable growth responses.
• Coordinate with partnerships personnel, project managers, and local offices to ensure coherent partner interactions.
• Monitor humanitarian and development trends, research events and publications, and identify collaboration opportunities.
• Provide advice on framework partnership agreements and contribute to the design, negotiation, and drafting of new projects and contracts.
• Explain UNOPS pricing policy to partners and support diversification of project opportunities.
• Gather content for communications and outreach, and establish partnerships with UN agencies, NGOs, governments, foundations, and the private sector.
• Participate in inter‑agency, donor, and government coordination on behalf of the office director.

Required profile

• Proven experience in partnership development within humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong analytical ability to assess risks, opportunities, and strategic positioning.
• Excellent coordination skills with multiple stakeholders at local, regional, and HQ levels.
• Experience in drafting agreements, contracts, and concept notes.
• Ability to communicate UNOPS policies and pricing to partners.
