Information Technology Officer – ICT Planning & Support

About the role

The organisation is seeking an Information Technology Officer to lead ICT planning, policy compliance and infrastructure delivery in Harare. The role combines technical support, cybersecurity, and project coordination to ensure reliable and secure IT services.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to corporate ICT standards and government IT compliance, including data protection regulations.
• Plan, design and right‑size servers, desktops, laptops, printers, network equipment and mobile communications tools.
• Provide first‑line technical support for hardware, software, networks and corporate applications.
• Install, configure, maintain and monitor LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls and internet connectivity.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures such as antivirus, patch management, encryption, backups and access controls.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, ensure business continuity and manage disaster‑recovery processes.
• Manage the ICT helpdesk, maintain support records and deliver remote/on‑site assistance.
• Support onboarding of new staff with ICT induction, account setup and device configuration.
• Coordinate ICT projects including ERP implementation, digitalisation initiatives and technology migrations.
• Manage vendors and service providers for internet, hardware maintenance, telephony and power backup solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in ICT planning, policy support and infrastructure design.
• Familiarity with government IT compliance and personal data protection regulations.
• Ability to lead ICT projects, manage vendors and ensure alignment with global operational standards.
• Strong analytical skills to assess business ICT requirements and deliver cost‑effective solutions.
