Human Capital Officer

About the role

The Human Capital Officer will lead daily HR activities for the A’Zambezi River Lodge, partnering with the General Manager to align people strategies with business objectives. This role focuses on attracting top hospitality talent, fostering employee engagement and ensuring compliance with Zimbabwean labour legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end recruitment, selection and structured onboarding for new staff.
• Coordinate performance management cycles, development plans and continuous learning initiatives.
• Oversee employee relations, handle grievances and disciplinary actions in line with corporate policies and local labour law.
• Maintain accurate HR records, process payroll inputs and administer employee benefits.
• Produce regular HR analytics and metrics for senior leadership.
• Design and implement employee engagement, safety and wellness programs to promote a high-performance culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology or a related field.
• 2–3 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in hospitality or tourism.
• Professional HR membership (e.g., IPMZ) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Zimbabwe labour legislation and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
