Group Tax Manager

About the role

The Group Tax Manager will lead tax compliance and risk management for a multi‑branch organisation operating in retail, manufacturing, distribution and import activities. This hands‑on position requires preparing tax computations, returns, reconciliations and supporting documentation while liaising with ZIMRA, external auditors and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, income tax, QPDs and other statutory returns.
• Maintain tax documentation, evidence files and correspondence with tax authorities.
• Perform multi‑currency tax reconciliations (USD and ZWG) and manage fiscalisation requirements.
• Support audit processes with tax packs and provide monthly executive updates.
• Collaborate with finance, payroll, procurement, operations, IT/ERP and external consultants on tax matters.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Zimbabwe tax compliance and direct interaction with ZIMRA.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field.
• Professional qualification or part‑qualification (ACCA, CIS, ICAZ, CIMA or equivalent).
• Demonstrated ability to handle high transaction volumes and multi‑currency environments.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Practical knowledge of TaRMS and online filing processes.
