Duty Supervisor – Airport Operations

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking a Duty Supervisor to lead airport operations in Harare. You will coordinate passenger and aircraft handling, ensure safety and security standards, and drive service excellence on a shift basis.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all passenger and aircraft handling activities during your shift, adhering to checklists, brand standards, company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage safety and security outcomes by identifying hazards, monitoring compliance and reporting incidents.
• Coordinate VIP, MAAS, PRM and other special guest requirements, including planning and execution.
• Liaise with Guest Control, Network Control and SOC to mitigate operational disruptions and maintain service integrity.
• Implement and rehearse emergency response, disruption, diversion and business continuity plans.
• Drive on‑time performance, track delays, and coordinate mitigation actions.
• Promote airport ancillary sales, monitor process compliance and meet target metrics.
• Ensure customer service standards are met and report on related KPIs.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education or equivalent industry experience.
• 5‑7 years of experience in service, hospitality, airline or retail environments, with knowledge of aviation or airport policies.
• Previous supervisory experience in a high‑pressure, multicultural shift setting.
• Strong communication, decision‑making and leadership abilities.
