Digital Communications Officer (Gweru Campus)

About the role

The Digital Communications Officer will lead the university’s online presence for the Gweru campus, crafting and executing digital strategies that showcase the institution’s achievements and engage key audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage the campus’s digital communications and marketing strategy across all relevant platforms.
• Create, curate and schedule high‑quality content – written posts, graphics, videos and interactive media – tailored to each platform.
• Monitor, analyse and report on digital performance metrics such as web traffic, social engagement, conversion rates and campaign ROI using tools like Google Analytics.
• Manage paid social media and PPC campaigns to maximise reach and impact.
• Engage with the online community, responding to comments and messages promptly and in line with brand guidelines.

Required profile

• A degree in Digital Marketing, Communications, Media Studies or a related field.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience in digital marketing and social media management.
• Professional qualification in Digital Marketing or equivalent is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with major social media platforms.
• Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress.
• Knowledge of email marketing tools like Mailchimp.
• Ability to run paid social and PPC campaigns.
• Competence in Google Analytics and social media insights.
• Understanding of SEO and generative engine optimisation.
• Basic graphic design using Canva and video editing skills.
