Community Builder (Volunteer)

About the role

The Open Library on Green Economy (OLGE) is seeking a Volunteer Community Builder to launch and grow a WhatsApp community focused on sustainability, climate, and green‑economy topics. This execution‑focused role will use pre‑approved content to attract members, distribute information, and foster engagement across LinkedIn, Facebook and WhatsApp.

Key responsibilities

• Community Growth – create a WhatsApp group from scratch, drive member acquisition through structured outreach and route interested individuals from LinkedIn and Facebook.
• Content Distribution – post pre‑approved material in relevant LinkedIn posts and Facebook groups, identify suitable sustainability communities and ensure consistent posting.
• Community Engagement – share content regularly within the WhatsApp group, maintain basic moderation and hygiene, and encourage structured discussion.
• Tracking & Feedback – keep a simple tracker of outreach and growth metrics, share weekly updates on member growth and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Comfortable posting and engaging on LinkedIn and Facebook.
• Organised, consistent and able to handle repetitive tasks.
• Willing to take ownership of a simple but important growth goal.
• Interest in sustainability, climate and digital community building.
• No prior sustainability experience required, but genuine interest is essential.
