Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

About the role

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the Food & Beverage Manager in overseeing daily operations across all dining outlets, bars, lounges, banqueting, and in‑room dining at Avani Victoria Falls Resort. The role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences through operational excellence, financial discipline, and strong team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing strategic and operational plans for the Food & Beverage department.
• Help prepare and manage the annual departmental budget and monitor revenue and profitability targets.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of restaurants, bars, lounges, banqueting, and in‑room dining, ensuring brand standards are met.
• Coordinate closely with Service, Culinary, Stewarding, and Purchasing teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Lead visible service during operational periods, resolve guest concerns promptly, and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor sales performance, control labour costs, and manage inventory to minimise waste.
• Analyse financial reports, implement corrective actions, and support stock control processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in food and beverage operations within a hotel or resort environment.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and revenue optimisation.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and adapt to a fast‑paced hospitality setting.
