Airport Manager – Harare

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking an experienced Airport Manager to lead its operations at Harare. You will be responsible for overseeing all passenger and aircraft handling activities, ensuring safety, security and service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily passenger and aircraft handling operations, adhering to checklists, brand standards and regulatory requirements.
• Work on a shift basis, including weekends and public holidays, to maintain continuous airport operations.
• Manage safety and security performance through risk assessments, hazard identification and compliance monitoring.
• Coordinate VIP, MAAS, PRM and other special guest requirements, including flight editing and planning.
• Develop, rehearse and execute emergency response, disruption, diversion and business continuity plans.
• Monitor on‑time performance, report delays and implement mitigation actions.
• Drive ancillary sales, promotional activities and ensure process compliance.
• Track customer service standards and report against key performance indicators.
• Act as the Local Security Contact Officer for the station.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education or equivalent industry experience.
• 7–9 years of senior leadership or management experience in airport or airline operations.
• Proven ability to lead multicultural teams in a high‑pressure, shift‑based environment.
• Strong communication skills with experience presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Previous regional or international exposure is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Knowledge of airport safety and security regulations.
• Experience with flight editing and special guest handling (VIP, MAAS, PRM).
• Ability to develop and implement emergency response and business continuity plans.
• Proficiency in performance monitoring and KPI reporting.
