General Manager – Restaurant Operations

About the role

Foodies is seeking a full‑time General Manager to lead its restaurant operations in Zimbabwe. The role is on‑site and involves overseeing daily activities, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene and customer service, and driving profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage staff schedules and supervise both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house teams.
• Maintain food quality, hygiene standards and exceptional customer service.
• Monitor sales, control costs, prepare operational reports and implement profitability strategies.
• Handle vendor relationships, manage inventory levels and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Coach and develop team members, address customer feedback and support marketing initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management.
• Strong leadership, team supervision and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost control and basic financial reporting.
• Familiarity with health, safety and food‑hygiene standards in Zimbabwe.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic computer tools and point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Comfort working with data and generating reports.
