Business Development Officer

About the role

The Business Development Officer will work full‑time on‑site in Harare, Zimbabwe, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities for Webs For Africa Technologies. The role focuses on building strong client relationships and promoting the company’s ICT, software and systems integration solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Research target markets and identify potential clients.
• Prepare and submit proposals tailored to client needs.
• Participate in client meetings and deliver presentations.
• Negotiate contracts in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with technical and finance teams to ensure solutions meet requirements.
• Track sales performance and report on revenue growth.
• Contribute to strategic planning and revenue growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven new business development skills, including lead generation, opportunity assessment and deal closure.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret market data and evaluate business cases.
• Foundational finance knowledge to understand pricing, budgets and profitability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for client engagement and internal collaboration.
• Customer‑service orientation with a focus on long‑term relationship building.
• Experience in ICT, software or systems integration sales is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet targets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, ICT or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
