Food & Beverage Manager

About the role

The Food & Beverage Manager leads all restaurant, culinary and catering operations at Avani Victoria Falls Resort, ensuring guest satisfaction, high quality standards and profitable performance. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to align the department with the hotel’s strategic and financial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the hotel’s strategic and marketing planning, supporting budget preparation and financial targets.
• Maintain compliance with Avani Food & Beverage standards and stay updated on industry trends.
• Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and inventory.
• Analyse sales data and implement initiatives to maximise revenue.
• Oversee all restaurant, culinary and catering areas, ensuring smooth, profitable operations.
• Supervise staff performance, facilities, sales and costs to achieve departmental profit goals.
• Ensure high product and service quality, guest satisfaction and proper maintenance of hotel property.
• Coordinate menu, beverage and wine list pricing, and liaise with local suppliers.
• Handle employee relations, recruitment, training, performance appraisals and, when necessary, dismissals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing Food & Beverage operations within a hotel or resort environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent understanding of budgeting, cost control and inventory management.
• Ability to analyse market trends and drive revenue‑generating initiatives.
• Good communication skills for supplier and guest interactions.
